How to Recover ISO Files

An ISO file, or an ISO image, is a single file that's a perfect representation of an entire CD, DVD, or blue-ray. The entire contents of a storage medium can be precisely duplicated along with the file system in a single ISO file. All ISO images end in the file extension .iso and are often used to distribute large programs over the Internet because they are the exact copy and structure of the original media.

For example, you can purchase Windows Operating System online from Microsoft in ISO format. Then you can burn ISO files to a disc or a flash drive. For software that doesn't require to be run outside operating system, decompressing the ISO file would extract the contents to a folder. Extracting an ISO file copies all of the files from the image directly into a folder that you can browse through like any folder you'd find on your computer.

Sometimes, we might lose these ISO files due to accidental deletion, formatting, crashed partitions, etc. In these events, we recommend a powerful ISO recovery software: H Data Recovery Software

How to recover ISO files with H Data recovery software

H Data Recovery software features different recovery modules to tackle every data loss situation. No matter how you lose your ISO image, be it accidental deletion, format, or partition crash, H Data can restore it, with just a few clicks!

Step 1. Free download H Data Recovery Software and install. Launch the software after installation.

Step 2. Select from the main menu a module that suits your data loss situation.

Step 3. Select the partition where the ISO image used to be before it gets deleted. If you wish to recover file on Desktop, choose partition (C:). Click Next to start the scan process.

Step 4. When scanning is done, you will be able to see all the files that can be recovered. Use the filter function to quickly locate the ISO files. Check the files you wish to recover and click next to start the recovering process.

If the scanning process failed to find your lost file, try our new feature "Universal Recovery". It is a special module that scans deeper into the storage and locates all deleted files. Choose a directory to save these files before you hit the Next to start the final recovery process. Here you should save all the recovered files on a different drive or partition to avoid data overwriting.
