Have you ever met your computer motherboard got broken? I guess the answer is definitely”YES”. But do you know how to fix it? I think few people knows about that. Now we are talking about it.
Method one, searching the board.
1. Observe. First, observe the computer’s motherboard. Is there any trouble of burned, blistering, board disconnection, socket corrosion, etc.?
2. Check. Check the table to see if it is normal? e.g. + 5V, GND resistance is too small.
3.Test. Test the board by charging. If the board has been confirmed as a bad one, you can slightly increase the voltage, between 0.5 to 1V, and hand-wash the board IC after booted, and the poor chip will got heat.
4. Logical pen check. Check the IC output, input, the control section of the signal you don’t feel good and also examine the signal strength.
5. Identify the major work area. There has a clear division of the region on the most of the board, for example, the control area (CPU), clock, background screen area, action area, sound synthesis area. Identifying the major work area is very important for computer maintenance.
Method two, debugging technique.
1. First, check the suspicious chip, according to the instructions of the manual. Check if there is a signal in the input and output. If there is no export signal, then you should check the IC control signal. If there is no control signal, you should check signal of the previous Level until a damaged IC has been found.
2. Confirm the IC to see its status. Replace the IC with the same model, then reboot to see if it is normal.
3. Comparison. Find a good computer board with the same configuration to measure the corresponding IC pin waveform and its number to confirm the IC is broken or not.
4. Find the short lines by using a Standard Jumper Comparison Method or Tangent Method. If you find some short circuit, you can cut off the line and then do the measurement to determine if there is anything wrong with the IC problem or board routing.
Method three, knocking down the computer chips.
1. Put tin on both sides of the chip’s pin, using high-temperature soldering iron back and forth, and drag the IC out.
2. Cut the chip’s pin. With this method you will not hurt the board but the chip can not be used again.
3. Heat the chip with the alcohol lamp, gas stove or electric stove, you can pick the chip after the tin has melt on board.
4. Blow the chip’s pin with an electric air gun. You can pick the chip after the tin has melt.
