How to Solve iTunes Not Recognizing iOS Devices

There are many requests from our users worried they can’t sync their iOS devices because it is not recognized by the PC. Have you ever have similar troubles getting iTunes to recognize your iPhone or iPad? Here are some useful solutions. You can try them to find one that works best for you.
Basic Solutions to Get iTunes to Recognize iOS Devices
1. Reboot your PC and iOS device. Relaunch iTunes.
“Have you tried turning it off and on again?” This is a potential solution and it is so easy that you should definitely give it a shot first. It works in mysterious ways. Sometimes your iOS device will be recognized and show up in iTunes right after the reboot.
2. Connect the iOS device to a different USB port on the computer
It could be a damaged USB port that is preventing iTunes from recognizing your iOS device. Do not use external USB-hubs but connect the iPhone to one of the slots located directly on the computer. Also, if you are using a desktop PC, connect the iOS device to a slot located on the rear end.
3. Use a different cable, preferably a genuine Apple USB cable
Non-genuine cables don’t last very long and can potentially damage the battery.
4. Verify if your iTunes version is the latest.
Open iTunes. From the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window, choose Help > Check for Updates. Follow the prompts to install the latest version.
Update Apple Mobile Device Drivers
For Windows PC users whose iPhone, iPad or iPod touch is not being found or detected by iTunes or the computer, you can go check if the iOS Device Driver is most up-to-date.
1. Go to the Device Manager in Windows. (Press the Windows and R key to open the Run command. In the Run window, enter devmgmt.msc, then click OK.)
2. Locate and expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers section and locate “Apple iPhone”. Right click on the ‘Apple iPhone’ and choose “Update software
3. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers to check the updated driver.
4. Unplug your iOS device and reconnect using a working USB cable. Now, open your iTunes again and you should see your iPhone, iPad or iPod is being recognized.
Backup your iOS devices using alternative methods
You can find an iTunes alternative to backup your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch data. H Data iPhone Data Recovery Software is the recommended solution. It allows you to back up photos, contacts, messages, notes and more from your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch to a computer or other external storage devices as a backup. What’s better, H Data iPhone Data Recovery Software allows you to selectively backup and preview files you want and recover deleted information if needed.
1. Connect iPhone to PC and run H Data iPhone Data Recovery. Choose “Scan iPhone for deleted files” mode.
2. After the scan is done, you will be able to find and preview all the files in their corresponding categories. Select the files you want to backup and export them on your PC drives or other external storage devices.
