Things you should know about RAID data recovery

In the event of a data loss situation, we will hear some terms related to data recovery during data recovery process after suffering from data loss. One of them is the RAID disk array data recovery, so, whats the real meaning of RAID data recovery?
The full name of RAID is a redundant array of inexpensive disks. Its initial purpose is to combine multiple smaller hard drives into a large-capacity "logical disk" or disk array, to improve hard drive capacity and performance.

Three characteristics of RAID technology.
1. The RAID technology can strip the data on the hard disk to block the access to the data, reduce the mechanical hard drive seek time and improve data access speed.
2. The RAID technology can read several hard drives in the same array at the same time, to reduce the mechanical hard drive seek time and improve data access speed.
3. The RAID technology can realize redundancy protection of data by image or information of Parity check restoration.
Maximum storage capacity
In fact, Maximum storage capacity refers to the limit of the ability to store the data capacity in the disk array device. Generally speaking, the maximum storage capacity equals the maximum number of hard drives multiplied by a single hard disk capacity the disk array device could supported. Typically, small disk arrays can support hundreds of gigabytes of storage capacity, which suitable for small and medium-sized businesses to share data as storage devices.
Average transfer rate
Average transfer rate means the stable speed the data read/transfer from the disk array to an external host or other places, not the burst rate.
Rotational speed of Hard drive
The rotational speed of Hard drive actually refers to the hard disk motor spindle rotation speed, the higher speed it runs, the greater internal transfer rate will reach. Currently, the common IDE interface hard drives speed could reach to 5400RPM and 7200RPM, and SCSI interface hard drive speed can able to reach 10000RPM or more. If there dont have a lot of data storage in small companies, IDE interface hard drives speed of 5400RPM or 7200RPM hard drive will be OK, but if there has a large Data requirements, the best choice is the SCSI hard drive and it also has a advantages of hot-plug.
Cache
Each disk array device is equipped with a certain amount of memory as a cache for using, and the cache can be expanded by users. In the disk array device, the common memory type has SDRAM, FLASH, etc., different disk arrays equipped with different memory capacity in the production.
Numbers of single disk
Stand-alone disk data refers to the number of the SCSI hard disk or IDE hard drives a disk array products can accommodated.
Built-in hard disk interface
The disk array products is a "container" of various hard disk, so there are many hard drive interface in the internal integration.
External host channel
The disk array is worked as a data storage device for network users, therefore it requires disk array to provide an interface, and the connection link to server host or other network devices. We call this interface as the host channel or external host channel.
If you suffer from data loss of RAID disk , the best choice is searching helps from professionals, and if they do not grasp, It is best not to remove the storage device by yourself, like senior engineers in Hdata Recovery Software, avoiding second damage to the data.
