File Recovery: How To Recover Files Deleted By Antivirus Software

In workplaces and personal lives, many of us rely on the Internet to communicate and obtain information. The Internet can be hazardous as thousands of viruses or Trojans roaming in search for unsuspecting victims. Antivirus software identifies and removes these dangerous programs from your system and protects both your computer and your data from prying eyes. There is a number of antivirus software available in the market, such are Norton, Avast, AVG, MaCfee, etc.

Anti-virus software protects your PC from being attacked by Trojan or virus, but it is not perfect. Sometimes, during the course of scanning, the antivirus software may occasionally remove some file folder that it suspects containing malicious or unsafe codes. There are some bad times wherein, in spite taking all precautionary steps files might get deleted. Following we provide some effective solutions for you to recover deleted files by antivirus software.

Solution 1. Restore files from antivirus software virus chest/virus vault

Normally the antivirus software will not directly remove the suspicious files without consent. The suspicious files will be moved to a “quarantine zone” to prevent any malicious activity. Different antivirus software has slightly different approaches for this function but you often can find the deleted files within the “quarantine zone” and be able to restore them.

For example, in AVG you can open menu Options and select Virus Vault. From there, you can select the files that you wish to restore or permanently delete. If needed, click Details to display more information about the removed infection.

In Avast, you can right-click on the Avast icon and select the option "Open Avast user interface". Click on the "Maintenance" tab and choose the "Virus Chest" on the left panel. Then you can browse the locked-up malware and restore any mistakenly deleted files by selecting “Extract...”.

Solution 2. Run a Recovery Software to Recover deleted files

If you cannot find the files in the antivirus “quarantine zone”, you can try some third party data recovery tools. Hdata Recovery Software performs an in-depth scan of the drive and restores deleted files like documents, pictures, photos, videos, music, emails and more from the hard drive, pen drive, memory cards and other flash cards. It is the most preferred software to recover files deleted by antivirus software.

Step 1. Launch Hdata Recovery Software and select "Deleted Your files Accidentally" by clicking it.

Step 2. Select the partition where your files used to be before they get deleted. If you wish to recover files on Desktop or from Recycle Bin, choose partition (C:). Click Next to start the scan process. It only takes few seconds!

Step 3. When scanning is done, you will be able to see all the files that can be recovered. Check the files you wish to recover and click next to start the recovering process. If the scanning process failed to find your lost file, try our new feature "Universal Recovery". It is a special module that scans deeper and quicker into the storage and locates all deleted files.

Step 4. This is the last step where you choose a path to store the recovered files.
.
Antivirus software cannot decide how important a file is. It only does what it is programmed to do: scan for and eliminate threatens. Your judgment should also play a part in this. Although you are able to get back lost files by using data recovery software, you can be careful during the course of anti-virus scan. Usually, the antivirus software will prompt you how to deal with the problems when there is a virus infection, you should check to see if the folder really contains viruses.

Sometimes when virus infection is so bad that even antivirus software is not able to fix, then you would format the disk partition to erase virus. If you have formatted any disk partition and lost important files, you can also try Hdata Recovery to restore lost files.
