How to Recover Files from Samsung and Other Android Smartphone SD Cards

Nowadays, you can see SD cards are implemented on many devices like smartphones to extend storage capacity. Unlike built-in storage, SD cards can be removed and accessed on other devices. The frequent plug in and out makes SD cards prone to damage and potential data loss. The following  situations may have happened to you before:

1. Inadvertent formatting/resetting

2. Accidental deletion

3. Data loss due to virus infection

4. Unreadable or corrupted SD cards. You get error messages such as "The file or directory is corrupted or unreadable" or "Disk in drive X:\ is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?"

For unreadable or corrupted SD cards, it could be physical damage or logical errors. We’ve covered this part in earlier blogs. Read how to diagnose unreadable SD cards.
