We can use WeChat to send short videos, photos and of course, text messages to our friends. These conversations are temporarily saved on our iPhone storage even you have deleted the conversation within the app. We can’t access the history file by default, but they are included in WeChat backup files and iTunes backup files. If your WeChat history is cleared or deleted, you can recover it with any of the backups available.
WeChat has a built-in function that allows you to backup your data to the server. If you don’t have any backup files available, you need to try some iPhone data recovery software. Here we recommend H Data iPhone Recovery. It allows you to recover WeChat messages by directly scanning iPhone or extracting from existing iTunes backups.
Step 1. Free download H Data iPhone Recovery and install it on your computer.
Step 2. Connect iPhone to computer, select View and Restore Files from iTunes Backups. Choose an iTunes backup file and click SCAN.
If you have lost your iPhone or your iPhone is not functioning, you can also click Browse for iTunes Backups to manually select an iTunes backup file.
If you have no iTunes backups either, fret not! You can directly scan the iPhone device to retrieve WeChat messages. Select Scan iPhone for deleted files and click Begin Recovery From iPhone button.
Step 3. When the scanning process is done, you will be able to see all the recoverable files. Choose WeChat on the left panel, then you will find, listed on the right, all the WeChat accounts that have ever been logged onto on this iPhone. Select the account you want to recover messages from and click View Records to browse the chat history.
Step 4. Click Switch Accounts to switch between WeChat accounts. You can export friends’ profiles by clicking the Export button on the upper right corner, right next to the profile information. To export chat history, click the Export Selected Records or Export All Records. By default, the Hide no conversation box is checked so that only the friends with conversation history will be shown. You can uncheck the box to view more friends.
